first impressions of ‘Overpowered’.

no matter what I say, I adore Róisín Murphy a fuckload (yes, that is a standardised unit of measurement bitches).

my favourites are: Checkin’ On Me, Let Me Know, Movie Star, Footprints, Cry Baby, Scarlet Ribbons & Parallel Lives.

her voice is particularly exquisite on Scarlet Ribbons.
there is a lot of electronic influence here, which isn’t necessarily bad (I adore Orally Fixated).
as moneiri said “It’s a bit of a mishmash of sounds, but it’s pretty amazing.” I have to agree with that, especially as I think in the fact that it doesn’t really flow as an album. Or, it may flow together better if it was rearranged a little. But that’s just nitpicking.

I also listened to the ‘Overpowered’ EP, and I adore Sweet Nothings.

that’s all for now, I’m off to re-listen to Ruby Blue :D
